- Is there a fee or charge for the Coin
Collecting Merit Badge Clinic?
- Other than the cost of a stamp to send in
your registration, NO, there is no fee or charge?
- Are we supposed to mail the "Blue Card" to
you to register?
- **Yes, the Application for Merit Badge is the
clinic registration form.
-
When we send the "blue cards" to your
attention, should the Scouts indicate their preference for which time they
would like to attend the session?
- **Yes, there
are a limited number of Scouts who may be accommodated in each session. As
of this time (May 23, 2005)
the 10 AM and 12 PM session is closed, and the remaining sessions have openings.
-
Will they be notified in advance in which
session they have been placed?
- If a session
is full, I will contact the Scout to make adjustments.
- Do I have to do the requirements 6b, 7, 8, 9,
&10 before I come to the clinic?
- No, requirements 6b, 7, 8, 9, &10 must be
done before or after the clinic in order to earn full
completion of the badge, however, if done after you will need to work with
a MB Counselor from your Troop to finish up.
- How long does each session last?
- Each session lasts two hours, and the Scout
should plan some time to visit the Coin show in order to satisfy
requirement 10b.
- Does he have to visit the show before his
scheduled session to complete requirement 10b.
- No. If the Scout visits the show before his
scheduled session, then counselors will be able to sign off 10b. If he
visits after, then he can drop back by the clinic before leaving and get a
counselor to sign off 10b, or your Scoutmaster can assign a counselor back
at the Troop to sign off unfinished requirements.
ISSUES REGARDING
REQUIREMENT/PAMPHLET REVISIONS
Please be aware that the 2004 and
2005 printing of the Coin Collecting Merit badge book reflects an earlier
revision of the book and requirements. (REV 33390A)
The current badge requirements
are found in the 2005 Requirements Book (No. 33215A)
We will be teaching per the
current requirements (which are almost identical in any case) and where
there is any conflict we will err on the side of the scout.
