NEWS FOR ADULT SCOUT LEADERS AT ALL LEVELS

To all Button Gwinnett Cub and Boy Scout leaders and Committee Chairs:
Last year we began placing the calendar in the web page as a link to Google Calendar. Likewise, the Atlanta Area Council has an active calendar on their web page. Both the Council and District calendars, thus configured, may be updated "on the fly" as future event dates are firmed up.
The District calendar has had many key dates for District wide Cub and Boy Scout events added for the 2009 - 2010 school year several months ago. However, at our committee meeting this week, we went through and (hopefully) finalized all dates currently known in the calendar for the upcoming year. Much of this is based upon dates set on the Council calendar.
You may access the District calendar on our home page: www.gwinnettbsa.org. Click on the District Calendar link. Please use this calendar as you put together your unit plans for the upcoming year. We hope to have 100% participation in all District wide events!
If you have any questions, concerns, corrections or additions to the calendar, please do not hesitate to contact me at: jaguerinbg@bellsouth.net

Thank you all for all that you do for Scouting in Button Gwinnett! I look forward to a great year for us all in the 2009 - 2010 school year!

Best regards,
John Guerin
Chairman
Button Gwinnett District
Atlanta Area Council

It is a requirement for at least one person in each Pack to have this training to plan and attend ANY and all overnight activities with cub scouts and is REQUIRED for your Tour Permit. Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders (OLSWL)

Designed specifically for the Webelos Den leaders and assistants, this course teaches outdoor related skills through demonstration and hands-on practice. Webelos Den Leaders should attend this training BEFORE conducting Webelos overnight camping with the boys and parents of the den. In addition to covering basic camping skills, this course features planning tools and finding resources. Part of “The Basics for Webelos Den Leaders”. The Essential outdoor skills for Webelos leaders to learn and share with their Webelos and parents.  Great for help in earning the Webelos badge and to help prepare your boys for crossing up into the Boy Scout program.
