IT’S HAPPENING AT KINGSWOOD

April 25, 2004

ATTENTION YOUTH  Rising 6th Graders & Jr. High Youth, be sure to sign up with Ellen for the Camp Lookout Mission Trip, May 31-June 4.   UMYF will not meet April 25th, but will resume Sunday May 2nd with Destination Unknown from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
30 Hour Famine  The Kingswood Youth fasted for 30 hours this weekend, as they learned about world hunger & poverty, worked at the Interfaith Outreach Home, and prayed for starving children each time a stomach growl was heard.  Today, the youth will be collecting monetary donations to be sent to help feed starving children.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPER  Join us for roast beef, mashed potatoes & gravy, broccoli, salad, rolls and dessert 5:45 p.m. Please make a reservation for dinner with the coupon in the bulletin, call the church office or go to our website for reservations by 4 p.m. Monday. Program follows at 6:30 p.m.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

April 25th is the LAST DAY to register for Vacation Bible School! You do not want to miss Lava Lava Island June 7 – 10. Registration forms are available in the church office.

Visit our booth at the Ministry Fair after the 11:00 service!

Mother’s Day Brunch  Sign up today! It is being held on Saturday, March 8 from 9:30-11:30. Bring your mother, a mother figure, your children, or just yourself and join us for a time of food, fellowship and a scrapbooking activity.  The event is free but we do ask for reservations, so fill out the enclosed coupon today!
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY needs your help! Are you going to be worshiping at Kingswood at least one Sunday this summer? If so, we need you! We are looking for Summer Sunday School teachers so we can give our full-time teachers a much deserved break. You only have to sign up for one Sunday (although you can volunteer more than once) and it is so easy! The curriculum is already written and ready for teaching. Please sign up for one or more Sundays-see Lisa Bruce in the Narthex following worship today.
CONNEXION CALLERS NEEDED  Each member of our fine ConneXion Caller group calls one or two first-time visitors approximately once a month. This is a great way to let our visitors know that we’re a welcoming church and that we hope they will come again! If you would like to join our group on a regular basis, or to serve as a substitute caller when necessary, please call Ellie Freund at 678-421-0635.
AUDIO TAPES  There have been numerous requests for audiotapes of sermons and of the inspirational message given by Glenda Camarda at the recent Coffee, Tea and Thee event. These are now available in the Welcome Center. A donation of 50 cents is requested. We extend our appreciation to Jim Lutes for making these tapes available.
THE KINGSWOOD KIDS’  mission project for April is collecting money and supplies for the Foster Care Support Foundation. Please make a monetary donation or provide black baby dolls for little girls, play balls for little boys, socks for toddlers shoe size 3, to older child shoe size 4. They also need new underwear for children, sizes 2-14 and new bathing suits for the summer. Contact Jenna Mobley with questions or to make a donation.
KINGSWOOD BOOK CLUB will meet at the home of Art & Betty Collins on May 7 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw. At a time in their lives when their days and nights should have been filled with innocent adventure, love, and the lessons of the workaday world, they were fighting in the most primitive conditions possible in Europe and the Pacific. They won the war; they saved the world. They gave the world new science, literature, art, industry, and economic strength unparalleled in history. This book tells their stories. We always welcome new members and would love to have you join us.
