RAY EDWARD GLAZE Of Doraville, GA, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 22, 2003. Ray Glaze was born November 20, 1938 in DeKalb County, GA, third child of Herman Thomas Glaze and his wife, Lillie Kate Hughes Glaze. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen Julia "Judie" Livaditis Glaze, and their four children and their families: Jeff and Chris Glaze of Doraville, GA, David and Dianne Glaze of Hagerstown, MD; Marianne and Ed Burrows of Lawrenceville, GA, and Tim and Lee Glaze of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren, David Edward Glaze, Jr., Deanna Jeanette Glaze, Eric Daniel Burrows, Emily Kate Burrows, Melissa Silva Glaze, Titus James Glaze, Douglas Evan Glaze, and Julia Annette Glaze; his brothers, James Eugene Glaze, Sr. and Ralph Herbert Glaze; his sisters, Beatrice Evelyn Glaze Coker, Kathryn Ann Glaze Bostic and Martha Nell Glaze Buice also survive him. 

 

Ray Edward Glaze accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in September 1990 and was baptized on August 29, 1999 at the Duluth Church of God, where he was an active member and grew spiritually while celebrating God's redeeming Grace. He worked in the construction industry for 40 years as a superintendent on commercial construction projects throughout the southeast, taking pride in hard work and in meeting the schedules and exceeding the expectations of his employers. Since his days in the Future Farmers of America at Chamblee High School, he had a reputation for a green thumb, which he inherited from his mother. He shared freely of his bountiful garden. 

 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25th, at Duluth Church of God. Interment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park in Norcross. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the church. Ray Edward Glaze, 64, of Doraville died Wednesday.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Duluth Church of God. Burial will follow in Peachtree Memorial Park, Norcross.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today. Mr. Glaze's body will lie in the church from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Born in DeKalb County, Mr. Glaze worked in the construction industry for more than 40 years as a superintendent on commercial projects throughout the Southeast.

He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Helen "Judie" Livaditis Glaze; four children, Jeff Glaze of Doraville, David Glaze of Hagerstown, Md., Marianne Burrows of Lawrenceville and Tim Glaze of Lynchburg, Va.; five siblings, James Glaze Sr., Ralph Glaze, Beatrice Coker, Kathryn Ann Bostic and Martha Buice; and eight grandchildren.
